COMPORT will provide a web-based means for discovering, viewing, editing, and contributing information about various geographies: census tracts, municipalities, counties, regions, watersheds, development areas, legislative and congressional districts, market areas, and many others. The GeoPortal will allow users to access information by navigating maps and tabs to select areas and topics of interest to explore. The Central PA GeoPortal will begin with the eight counties that comprise South Central Pennsylvania– Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York. This one-day event will include invited delegates and will be convened in August 2009.
