Help with Cover Letters, Resumes...

Before you begin your job search you will need to develop your cover letters, resumes, and other documents. Below are links to information and instructions for developing your documents and samples of each. You might consider attending one of the resume and cover letter writing workshops offered by PSH Career Services, and "check out" the numerous resource materials available in the Career Services Library located in the Susquehanna building (north entrance).

Once you have written your cover letter and/or resume consider submitting the document for critique to: ask4careeradvice@psu.edu for the 48 Hour Resume Critique Service. Your cover letter and/or resume will be critiqued by one of the Career Services staff and available for you to pick-up in the Career Services Office (located in the Susquehanna building), two business days after submitting.

Before submitting your documents for critique, Be sure to download the checklist (PDF) covering the items that the Career Services office will look at when reviewing your cover letter and/or resume, and use these checklists to do your own review and try to meet the standards shown.
