Recruitment Assistance from the Career Services Office
At Penn State Harrisburg, the professional staff of the Career Services Office wants to assist in matching your personnel needs with the goals and talents of our graduates, and we offer prompt and personalized attention. Services to employers include:
On-Campus Recruiting Facilities
Employers are offered the opportunity to interview seniors and graduate students in a comfortable, private interview room. On-campus recruiting is scheduled during both the fall and spring semesters (October through April). Our size allows us to be flexible, but we find that campus interviews work best if we have a minimum of four weeks to publicize your visit and follow sign-up procedures. Students in the majors you specify will submit interview requests; employers may choose to prescreen the resumes and select students to interview. We will arrange full days, half-days, multiple schedules, group meetings, company information presentations, or other schedules at your request. To participate in the on-campus interview programs go to: the Nittany Lion Career Network to log-into your account or request an account.
Advertising Career Opportunities
We will advertise employment opportunities on the Nittany Lion Career Network, our web-based system shared by all Penn State Career Services offices. The system may be utilized to post internships, co-ops, and part-time or full-time opportunities. Employers are required to create/request an account -- go to: the Niitany Lion Career Network and request your account. Once approved by the Career Services NLCN administrator, you can post jobs and internship/co-op opportunities exclusively to our students and alumni at all Penn State campuses and locations (24). You may instruct candidates to contact you directly; or if you prefer, we will collect and forward resumes. In addition, upon request, the Career Services staff can create a "resume book" based on the position requirements and send it to you electronically. Job postings include a brief description of the opening(s), the requirements, and the contact information.
Meetings with Faculty
The Career Services office will arrange meetings with faculty members for employers interested in discussing their organization’s career opportunities and our degree programs. Contact Colleen Monismith at 717-948-6260 or email <cmg11@psu.edu>.
A Career Library
Employers are invited to provide the Career Services office with DVD's or videos for inclusion in our Career Library. Information about your products, services, culture and career opportunities is of interest to students and alumni. In addition, upon request we will add a link to your company’s homepage on our "Researching Employers" pages. Email your request to the Career Services office and include the address for the link.
