The Division of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) Advising Center is staffed by professional advisers who are part of a University-wide academic advising and information network that supports academic advising.
Academic Advising is integral to the educational mission of Penn State. The majority of pre-major students are undecided about their curricular goals and DUS plays a critical role in empowering students to navigate the University’s academic programs.
At Penn State Harrisburg, the DUS Advising Center provides the following services:
- An enrollment program for students who want to explore the University’s academic opportunities before selecting a field of study.
- Academic Advising for students enrolled in the Division of Undergraduate Studies, provisional status, and students who plan to transition to other University programs and campuses.
- Coordination of the First-Year Testing, Consulting and Advising Program (FTCAP) for all incoming first-year students.
- Facilitation of the Academic Advising and Registration Program, an orientation program for students transferring, changing their campus location, or re-enrolling to Penn State Harrisburg.
- Provide academic advising resources for all faculty, staff and students.
