Best Practices Based on Instructor/Student Comments

  • Using different colors and highlighting to distinguish different objects, or to show progression of steps
  • Remotely accessing student’s tablet PC screen to answer specific questions with greater understanding and depth
  • Providing opportunities for students to see how others approach the same problems (multiple ways to solve same problem); make instructor’s thought/solution process more visible
  • Posting annotated notes in ANGEL (PSU’s course management system)
  • Providing notes before class so students can pay attention to and think about what the instructor is saying without spending class time furiously copying down everything he wrote
  • Adding a picture, drawing, charts, graphs and annotating makes it easier to visualize the problem solution
  • Editing and deleting mistakes in a problem
  • Projecting his screen so students can take notes right on it – helps to focus attention
