Alcohol
Penn State Harrisburg is a dry campus and alcohol is forbidden anywhere on campus. If a team, either its participants or spectators, is found to possess or consume alcoholic beverages at a sponsored event, that team may be forfeited from the event and suspended from all intramural activities. The IM Coordinator, IM Assistants and IM Officials reserve the right to have team members who are suspected of arriving at games intoxicated assessed by Police Services before being permitted to play.
Captains Meetings
The team captain (or representative, if captain is unavailable) must attend the pre-season captain’s meeting. Meeting information can be found on IM Leagues. There are no excused absences from captain’s meetings. Teams that fail to have representation at the captain’s meeting will be dropped from the league.
Captains Responsibilities
The team captain is responsible for informing his/her team of Penn State Harrisburg IM Sports Policies and Procedures governing intramural sports. The team captain is also responsible for ensuring that his/her team is aware of all rules specific to that sport. The Penn State Harrisburg Intramural Sports Coordinator and staff utilize the team captain to communicate official business including rules, policies, violations, and sportsmanship-related issues. It is the responsibility of the team captain to communicate such information in a timely manner to his/her teammates. Captains are responsible for making sure that all team members have accepted the terms of the Penn State Intramural Sports Participation Agreement at IM Leagues.
ID Policy
Each IM sport participant must present his/her current PSU ID+ card to the Intramural Assistant prior to each game. Penn State Harrisburg IM staff may conduct random in-game identification checks. Therefore, each participant should be able to present his/her ID for proper verification. Teams using an ineligible player will forfeit the game and may be dropped from the league.
Assumption of Risk
Penn State University does not provide insurance coverage for any injury or accident related to participation in intramural sports or activities or any “practice” or “free play.” Each individual should provide his/her own coverage either through family policies or through the student insurance program. Injuries sustained while participating in intramural sports will be attended to by the Intramural Assistant on duty as well as by Police Services.
League and Event Registration
Intramural sports league and tournament registration information is released approximately one month prior to each semester and can be found at IM Leagues. Please follow the instructions for setting up an account so that you have access to all Penn State Harrisburg intramural information and procedures!
